During this time, we want to reach out with a few important updates:
Over the last couple of years, we've been carrying the gradual depreciation of the rand against the dollar, in addition to various price increases at the registry. Unfortunately, due to the dramatic decline of the Rand against the US Dollar, we have had no other choice but to increase the pricing on a number of our international domains. This is something we have successfully avoided since 2006. Pricing will not increase by the same margins as the currency fluctuation and still fall within industry-standard pricing as a result of our efficiency improvements and economies of scale.
There is some good news though, as we have managed to decrease our pricing for .joburg .capetown and .durban. These changes will not affect .co.za, .org.za, .net.za and .web.za. domains as these are not affected by the exchange rate.
The price changes will come into effect immediately for new domain registrations, transfers and renewal orders placed. Existing renewal invoices will not be adjusted and honoured at the old renewal costs, which includes all domains currently on auto-renewal that are set to expire in the next 35 days.
